Singing Goodbye to 2014

Honestly, I’m feeling really down on this final day of 2014. Things have been rough.

That’s why I’m making a list of songs that will help me sing and dance my way into 2015 with my head held high… and sharing it with anyone who may want some good, inspirational music to end 2014, and carry you through 2015.
I’ve created a Grooveshark playlist of 15 songs, which is at the bottom of this post.

Let’s start with 2014’s United State of Pop Mashup by DJ Earworm… Do What You Wanna Do.

DJ Earworm has created mashups of the 25 biggest hits of the year since 2007. Personally, this one is the best so far, and the perfect inspiration for heading into the new year.

Of course, I have to include Seal’s 1991 hit, “Crazy.”

In the playlist I created, I included the acoustic version, which I hadn’t heard until earlier in 2014. It’s beautiful. And Seal‘s lyrics are perfect… “But we’re never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy…”

Next, I have to include “Am I Wrong” by Nico & Vinz.

The music video is inspiring, as are the lyrics. I just started hearing it on the radio this year, although it was released in 2013. It’s definitely become my current inspirational anthem.

Finally, I have to include “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton…

…for obvious, awesome reasons.

Those 4 songs are included in the 15 song playlist I created. It also includes 2 songs from David Guetta’s newest album – LISTEN – “Yesterday” featuring Bebe Rexha and “Bang My Head” featuring Sia. The inspirational lyrics, and the beats with them, are amazing. There’s also “New Year’s Eves” by Greg Laswell

And as for what it takes to make it through another holiday, for the rest of your New Year’s Eves, I’m free.

I also included I’m Comin from Will Smith’s 1999 album, WILLENNIUM. Not on the list, but a song from that album that is perfect for any NYE is Will 2K.

Imagine Dragons, The Goo Goo Dolls, James Blake, Britney Spears, Phillip Phillips, Mika, and the Black Eyed Peas all also have songs on this playlist. Check it out below, and stay inspired heading into 2015.
