At 7am on Sunday, December 7th, I finished Jane Eyre, after having become riveted to the emotions in the words written by Charlotte Brontë. (Upon reflection, maybe it wasn’t the best choice to try and read myself to sleep with this book at midnight, as I wound up with no sleep.)
Finally, I am getting around to writing my review of the first book to be checked off of my Before 25 Bucket List…

In the book, it’s very true for Kate Winters after she moves to the small town of Eden, Michigan to fulfill her mother’s dying wish. After she meets the mysterious Henry, she is pulled into a world she didn’t know about, and doesn’t want to know about, where she has to pass seven tests in order to become immortal. I will now be reviewing The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross, another Harlequin Teen book that I received because of my time on Figment’s first-ever Street Team.
My paperback copy of The Girl in the Steel Corset included a “bonus book” at the beginning of the book, a prequel called The Strange Case of Finley Jayne. I obviously read that first, and then could not put it down after I finished… I was compelled to continue reading Kady Cross’s first book in “The Steampunk Chronicles.” I’d have to say The Girl in the Steel Corset was my favorite out of all nine Harlequin Teen books I received.
